Materials for Your Stand

We have already discussed in this blog the importance of preliminary work before participating in a trade fair—for example, in What should you consider when planning your stand? or Types of stands according to their characteristics—so it should come as no surprise that we insist once again in this article dedicated to very specific issues regarding the assembly of commercial spaces at events.

An aspect of utmost importance in the stand design phase is the choice of material or materials we will use in its manufacture, as this is intimately linked to the style we wish to achieve. To do this, we must consider the type of congress or exhibition we will be attending; the kind of product or service we offer; and the activity we will carry out during the fair, i.e., whether it will be merely informative or exhibitory, or, on the contrary, if demonstrations of some kind, meetings, talks, etc., will take place in our commercial space. Obviously, all these criteria must be harmonized with the marketing strategies to be developed and the commercial objectives we aim to achieve. Therefore, to capture attention and be creative and original, we must consider some premises regarding the most commonly used materials in this context.

Aluminum

The versatility and lightness of this metal make it the ideal choice when adaptability and ease of handling are sought. In combination with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or as part of the structure of slotted panels, it allows for quick adaptation of assemblies to any corner or, for example, achieving a significant visual impact by manufacturing tall stands, where the weight of other materials would be a disadvantage.

Wood

The noblest material available not only for the structure but also for the equipment of our stand. With displays, shelves, and furniture generally made of wood, it is easy to integrate into contexts where a natural or ecological approach is necessary. We must consider whether it is time to opt for a renewable and biodegradable element, sacrificing the malleability of aluminum or synthetic compounds.

Textile

It is clear that it cannot support the structure, but in combination with other materials, fabrics offer ease of assembly, reusability, and transportability.

PVC

When it comes to signage, this thermoplastic derivative cannot be overlooked. Its lightness and resistance make it ideal, for example, as a substitute for glass and for everything related to the signage of our space.

Here, then, is another ingredient to consider in the planning of our stand. If the impact of its use is anticipated, the probabilities of success for our participation in a fair will greatly improve.
